No it is my criticism of its ABC's, and it's road to failure in our sixth grade mentality news networks.
Peoples perceptions are also governed by symbols.

i see i was grossly mistaken when i clicked on this topic hoping for sincere political discourse about vice presidential candidates. i was greeted with amateur word games suitable only for the bowels of FreeRepublic.com.

i'm sure there are several if not dozens of reasons to question the rationale behind Obama picking Biden as his running mate, but "dur.. the names are funny" is so vapid and unintelligent that the words to describe it escape me.

"Dur... the names are funny" is what A LOT of people will be saying. This IS the level of mentality that I'm talking about, that is being catered to.

Now... Did Osama choose Biden because he was sitting there thinking... "Hmmm.... lets see, how can we really fu*k with average Americans? Haha! Listen to this... It's hilarious.... pass me the joint..."

Not exactly. It's just that the irony is improbably fantastic!

face it, the people with that mentality were not going to vote for Obama when it was just his name on the ticket in the first place. the general public was not swayed by the "scary name" talking point six months ago and they won't be swayed by it now.

Point taken.

NOTE: But this is one game people play.
Usāmah bin Ladens name was altered to "Osama bin Laden". I see no reason to do that. Other than the Usa symbol at the beginning of the former.

there is no accepted standard for transliteration of arabic to english. Osama is just as good phonetically as Usama, Usāmah, Ussamah, or Oussama.
