Is competition a permanent part of human nature?

Is competition an unchangeable part of human psychology or a vestige of our tribal past waiting to be discarded?

Could you clarify what type of competition you are speaking of?

Are you talking about the feeling of wanting to achieve more than someone else?

Or, are you speaking of the feeling of wanting to "battle" someone else to achieve the same outcome?

I would say they are different sides of the same coin. Seeking to achieve more than others can and, in the right circumstances, does mean competing for the same outcome.
