From wikipedia: "Emo is a subgenre of hardcore punk music. Since its inception, emo has come to describe several independent variations, linked loosely but with common ancestry. As such, use of the term (and which musicians should be so classified) has been the subject of much debate."

It combines the worst elements of Reggae, with the worst elements of rap & is flushed down with an insipid latin beat. That's my opinion, anyway.

Baby Boomers. Angry Baby Boomers. Flannel shirts all untucked and looking unruly...
Of course, the flannel shirts are l.l. bean and they wear their dockers low (really, really low) and write angry songs about how that can't shake their addictions, like Starbucks and SUV's. Surly, lactose-intolerant bastards who spent more money on equipment and lessons than most bands made in the '90's.

I used to be a "horror" editor. I put it in quotations because it just so happened to be the preferred genre moniker. But I think a good story is simply a good story. A good movie is simply a good movie. By that same token a good song is a good song. Who cares if it is part of one or another category. At the end of the day categories are too limiting. Too defined. I like to keep doors open.

Oo, I want to hear some Psych-ambient-folk-hop; who are some artists that create this stuff?
Actually, that should read "Psych ambient folk pop" and try Neutral Milk Hotel's _In the Aeroplane Over the Sea_.
