Community Guidelines
Thanks for visiting! Don't want to read everything below? Then just remember one thing:
Help us keep Grupthink a friendly, useful place to be.
In other words:
- Be gentle and forgiving with newcomers and those getting used to the Grupthink format.
- It's OK to disagree, as long as you are respectful.
- One answer at a time! Don't include multiple responses in a single answer.
- It's OK and encouraged to pre-populate your topics with lots of well-written relevant answers, even if you don't vote for all of them. That's also a good way to get more points! Remember, there is a "draft" mode available for new topics (in "advanced settings") so you can take your time.
- Avoid "Yes or No" questions if possible. Instead of asking "Do you like using apples?", ask "What fruits do you like?"
- Use your topic description to state any additional guidelines or requests for answers. Keep it succinct, though. People may assume they have to read it all before answering.
- Don't "dupe"! After you submit your topic title, you may be presented with a list of "Similar Topics Found". Make sure you aren't duplicating an existing topic or, if yours is similar, consider clarifying your topic title to make it more distinct.
- Use Images! Adding a picture to go to with your topic makes your topic listing more interesting and helps to attract more responses from others.
