He is fully aware that our military is stretched to the max right now, and that we are as vulnerable as we are ever going to be. On top of that, world opinion of the US isn't very high at the moment, and if this conflict is framed in the right way, he's going to have alot more people on his side than we're going to have on ours for the GUARANTEED world war that is going to ensue.
