I think she'd make a better Mrs. Morelli.
I too think Kazan would make a much better mother for Morelli than Stephanie. Kazan is a great actress but she is totally wrong from Mrs. Plum. Mrs. Plum is described in a couple of the books as:
"Mother is a short, slim woman, with facial features that suggest Mongol ancestors." (High Five, Chap. 1, p. 7)
"Like Grandma Mazur, but somewhat taller." (Eleven On Top, p. 115)
I guess I could see her as both, but as soon as I saw her picture I realized that was exactly how I saw her. I tend to think of Mrs Morelli as having darker hair.
People need to look beyond the hair color. Stars change their hair color all the time for rolls.
No, No, No! She's too Italian. She would make a better Mrs. Morelli for sure. Stephanie's mom is supposed to be of Hungarian decent, which is close to Germany. I think Mary Steenburgen would make a great Mrs. Plum and Joe Mantegna would be a great Mr. Plum as Stephanie's dad is the Italian one. And then Cloris Leechman as Grandma Mazur.
she can play GrandMa Bella.
