I even was talking to my sister in law who also reads the books and said "Doesn't Lula make you think of Queen Latifah?" Everytime I picture Lula this is who i see!

As much as I respect Queen Latifah, I don't think she's right for the part of Lula. She doesn't have the right build or attitude. I can't see her in skintight white leather singing with Sally Sweet or covered in molting feathers. Mo-nique yes!

The more I think about it the more I think it should be someone maybe a little younger and not SO incredibly famous. I like Mo-nique or Kym E. Whitley much better - both the right type. Kym E. played a hooker on Curb Your Enthusiasm once and it was hilarious!

I think that Queen Latifah is great just not as Lula. For one thing, she is way too tall to be Lula. "At five feet five inches, weighing in at a little over two hundred pounds, Lula is something of a doughnut expert. She was in a monochromatic mode this week with hair, skin, and lip gloss all the color of cocoa. The skin color was permanent, but the hair changes weekly." (Hot Six, Chap. 1, p. 5)
Mo'Nique would be a better choice.

I think that Lula is some sort of tough little black woman who is seriously kicking ass....and as much as I like Queen Latifah....I don't think that she would be as good as Lula............
Lula is just great.......and Queen Latifah is great, but nowhere near Lula's attitude!!!!

Not ugly enough for my type of Lula...

I see Lula more like a Hoochie Momma, with a frizzy afro, and big ass lips

Too classy - Lula is always getting into some kind of mishap with Stephanie, and I just can't see the queen being such a goofball!
