#3 No Criminal Justice system is perfect.
Therefore there should be no executions. We could execute innocent people.

What about the innocent victims that were killed by some maniac? Where is their justice? Executing innocent people does happen but what are we to do with these insane criminals? Seems like the victims have no justice. I am for the death penalty and we need more people to understand that criminals need to be done away with. What good are they to society? Do you want to be their friend? Marry them? Talk with them? If you do..then you are as deranged as they are.
You are extreme
No I am for the victims...not the murderers. You seem to support people who kill others for no apparant reason. How am I extreme? If my son is walking down the street and is confronted by a guy who robs and shoots him....am I supposed to marry the guy? Am I supposed to give him a party? Do I move in with him? I dont know about you but I want the guy PUNISHED for what he did. Not sure how people like you cant understand that type of thinking. What should we do with a guy like that? Put him in prison so he can watch TV, have HIS family visit, eat food, read etc. White my son is 6' under and my sons only crime was walking down the street? How can anyone make sense of not wanting these criminals punished. Extreme? No...dont kill anyone and you wont have to worry about the death penalty. You have no rebuttal..all you can say is I am extreme? I am for victims rights unlike you who are for the criminals rights. But heads up..CRIMINALS dont have rights. When you break the law...sorry you need to pay.
"If my son is walking down the street and is confronted by a guy who robs and shoots him....am I supposed to marry the guy?" This comment makes no sense, just because someone doesn't want a criminal killed means they want to marry them and give them a party? Poor logic. I'm just saying punishment should not be death, I never indicated there should be no punishment.
If my son is killed just because he was walking down the street...what type of punishment do you feel would be appropriate? We already know prison is a playground of rampant drug use, watching TV, getting medical care if they are sick. So I ask you...what should be the punishment for someone who takes a life?
life in prison, you ask my opinion, clearly you think it should be death, but you cannot go around calling me "as deranged as they are" because I have a different opinion. well I guess you can, its just so, well, self rightous
Since 1973, 124 people in 25 states have been released from death row because of their innocence. What about those people?
For the innocent people who were released thats great..and with the technology we have now those mistakes should be few and far between. Its so funny...no one seems to be able to answer the question of: If someone kills someone why do they get to continue on with their life? Whether its prison or they do time and for some reason get released on a loop hole. I dont understand how anyone can think life in prison is a punishment!! Explain to me how life in prison is a punishment? I have a few questions maybe you can clear up. If you go to prison for committing horrific crimes do you still get to:
EAT? SLEEP? WRITE LETTERS TO FAMILY? WATCH TV? TALK WITH OTHERS?
We all know the answers are YES to these questions...so tell me WHERE is the punishment? These creeps dont care if they cant go to a concert in NY...they are perfectly happy to sit in prison...get fed, get medical care etc. Its not like prison is really doing hard time-its not and we all know this. Tell Kelsey Smiths family (their daughter was going to target to get a gift and some creep grabs her, kidnaps her and kills her) tell kelseys family that you dont think her killer should be put to death..that you think her killer should still get to eat, sleep, walk, talk, write letters to his family, maybe publish a book in prison...see how kelseys family reacts to that. I dont know how you can feel any sympathy towards these people who commit these crimes. To think of these creeps still around makes me sick. If it makes you guys happy to know that they are safe and sound then so be it.
In my opinion, the question isn't "do murderers deserve to live?" because using that line of thought would lead to the conclusion that anyone who doesn't add an overall positive contribution to society would not deserve to live. Deserve is an impossible idea to quantify. Instead, "does the government/general public have the right to kill?" works much better for me. To not have sympathy for the victims would be insane, but to use this as the main argument to terminate a life is absurd as it does nothing to rectify the situation. And while prison may not be worthy of dante's inferno, it is by no means a desirable place to be. Besides, there is no punishment that can counter murder, jail is someplace to seperate people who have been judged to harm society.
What about the victims the people who suffer because of these sick people.
If my daughter was out partying and was confronted by a maniac, who then butchers her. What do you think the punishment should be.
A person who ends another persons life should die.An eye for an eye, life for a life!
