About Grūpthink

What is Grūpthink?

Short answer: Grūpthink is a living source of collective wisdom.

Longer answer: Grūpthink is a new way to ask and explore open-ended topics with the rest of the world. Anyone can post a topic or open-ended question at Grūpthink. Here's where it gets even more interesting: Anyone can add new responses to questions and topics, and those answers can be voted on by everyone else.

Grūpthink makes it possible to explore interesting questions that weren't feasible before, such as:

  • What is the best digital video camera for under $300?
  • What new features do you want to see in the next version of Madden NFL?
  • Who is the greatest athlete of all time?
  • Who has the worst sense of style?
  • What is the meaning of life?

What makes Grūpthink special?

Aw shucks, we thought you'd never ask! Grūpthink is special because it allows you to ask interesting, open-ended questions of a group and collect and aggregate their answers. We think it's pretty spiffy.

Here are a few things that make Grūpthink unique:

  • Anyone can post a question or topic.
  • Anyone can add new answers to questions.
  • You can vote on multiple answers to every question.
  • Rank counts! Everyone can rank their votes for a given topic.
  • Answer Images: Upload images for new answers.
  • Find like-minded people, based on your answers and votes New!
  • Pose private questions to a select group of experts, friends or colleagues! New!

Asking questions

If you've got a question to ask, Grūpthink makes it easy for you to add the first few possible answers that come to mind and then invite your friends, co-workers, members, contacts, or employees to offer their opinions and ideas. Just click "Ask a Question" at the top of the page to get started.

Exploring the social mindscape

It's fun to just browse or search for the topics that interest you, and contribute your opinion and expertise to the social mindscape. As we like to say around here, "What do u think?"

As you participate more and more, you'll earn Grūpie Points and meet some interesting people along the way!

About the team

The Grūpthink team lives and works in Missoula, Montana. Nestled in the heart of the Northern Rockies between Glacier and Yellowstone National Park, Missoula is home to an eclectic mix of college students, cowboys (and girls), environmentalists, ranchers, snowboarders, writers, artists, and software engineers.
